I just want to correct something in the article. The Inmarsat network only has ONE
satellite that covers Australia, not TWO.
The old network had an Indian Ocean one and a Pacific Ocean one but the new network that the Isatphone Pro and the BGAN units operate on has one
satellite almost exactly due north of
Melbourne (143.5 degrees East). The others are over Africa and in the Americas, neither of which can be seen from here. The
satellite for Australia is at a height of around 40 degrees in Tasmania, 45 in
Melbourne and higher up north.
